The Democracy Protection Network, its agents, and its affiliates (“DPN”,“we”, or “us”) take privacy, security, and your trust seriously. This Terms of Service and Privacy Policy Document (“Policy”) describes the conditions related to your interactions with DPN. Your use of the website https://democracyprotectionnetwork.org/, and all platforms, blogs, and features of the website (“Website”) indicates your acceptance of this Policy. If you do not accept all the terms of the Policy, you are not to use the Website. This Policy may change, so please refer back to it periodically.

  1. Information Presented on the Website. The information provided on our Website is presented for general informational purposes only. This information does not constitute legal guidance or advice, does not create or constitute an attorney-client relationship, is not intended as a solicitation, and is not a substitute for obtaining legal advice from a qualified attorney.
  2. Purpose of the Website; Liability Limitation for DPN’s Limited Role. DPN does not provide services to you or other applicants who use this Website. The Website’s purpose is to facilitate a DPN referral to one or more organizations that can potentially provide services to you. You understand that you are solely responsible for selecting or refusing services from any organization. DPN disclaims any and all warranties with respect to the services of any organization that you select. You assume all risks and release DPN from any claims related to injuries or damages arising from your use of the Website or your selection of any organization referred to you, whether known or unknown at the time.
  3. Information We Collect. We may collect two types of information from you:
    • “Personal Information” you choose to provide to us. This is information that would allow someone to identify or contact you, including, for example, your name, organization, address, phone number and email address. The personal information we collect might include your name, address, organization name, phone number, fax number, and email address.
    • “Non-identifiable Information” is information that does not reveal your specific identity, including browser and device information, access and usage data, Internet Protocol address, and Website usage information collected through cookies, pixel tags and other technologies – see further in “Cookies and Similar Tools” section below. Non-identifiable Information also includes information that has been anonymized or aggregated in a manner that no longer reveals your specific identity.
  4. Information We Do Not Collect or Accept. We do not accept information that is classified or otherwise designated by a United States Government agency for limited or restricted dissemination or distribution. We also do not accept any information that is intended by you to be attorney-client privileged, as DPN is not a law firm.
  5. How We Collect Information About You. We may collect information about you when you use the Website. For example, we may collect information when you submit an application to request services or otherwise communicate with us. You may generally browse the Website without providing any Personal Information.
  6. How We Use Your Information. DPN uses Personal Information collected about you to provide you with information and refer you to service-providers; enable you to participate in features on the Website; customize our content or communications to you based on your previous interactions with DPN; provide user support; communicate with you and respond to your inquiries; improve the content and features of the Website; and advance DPN’s mission. DPN may share your Personal Information with its agents, affiliated entities, and partners for the purposes of completing tasks and facilitating services to you on our behalf. DPN uses Non-identifiable Information for internal purposes, for example, to manage and improve the Website, analyze usage patterns, customize and improve the user experience, and diagnose technical problems.
  7. When We Disclose Your Information. We do not provide Personal Information we receive from you to unaffiliated third parties, except to those who provide services to applicants and to contractors that assist us in maintaining our website and computer systems, or collect and process applications. DPN does not sell or rent your Personal Information. If law enforcement or judicial authorities require us to provide them with your Personal Information, we will provide information to the extent legally necessary.
  8. Security. DPN treats security seriously and takes reasonable measures to protect each Website user’s Personal Information. While we strive to use industry-standard practices to protect your information against loss, theft, unauthorized access, unauthorized disclosure, unauthorized copying, and modification, please be aware that no security measures are perfect or impenetrable and no method of data transmission can guarantee against any interception or other type of misuse. DPN CANNOT GUARANTEE THE ABSOLUTE SECURITY OF YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION AND ANY TRANSMISSION OF PERSONAL INFORMATION IS AT YOUR OWN RISK.

We may use third-party analytics providers and technologies, including cookies, pixel tags, and similar tools, to assist in collecting information about your computer or device and your use of the Website. If you visit, access, interact with, and/or otherwise use the Website from a location outside the United States, please be advised that any information you provide in connection with any such activity may be processed in and/or transferred to the United States of America and/or other territories and locations, where privacy protections may not be as comprehensive as those in the territory or location where you interact with or otherwise use the Website.
